What was Christmas like in the past?

This week Nell's dad (Kevin) and Mr Taylor's dad came to talk to the class about what Christmas was like when they were a boys. Kevin told us what Chistmas was like in Texas when he was growing up. He said it was similair to Scotland except for the weather!!! We saw a photo of his Christmas tree decorated with Christmas cards. We thought that was a good idea.

Then Mr Taylor's dad told us what Christmas was like in his house when he was a boy. He did not have fairy lights for  his family tree because they did not have electricity. He did not get many presents. If they did get a big present his dad would have made it for him and his sister. Christmas dinner was a big treat and it was always goose on the menu and not turkey.
